Mother and Son Duo, Vera Edwards and Ricardo Cordero, Plays Major Roles in Creating Stars

Vera Edwards and her son, Ricardo Cordero, having put their skills and talents to good use over the years, have begun to help others flourish with their creative skills. Born and raised in the South Bronx, Vera is an established award-winning independent author, film director, and producer. She and her son spent many years as filmmakers and pivoted into a partnership and established Street Line Video.

They established Street Line Video, an underground media video production team that discovers budding talents and sets them on the path to becoming stars. The company focuses on visual storytelling and giving independent artists from the streets a platform to express their talent. With a track record of recording celebrities like Babyface, Charlie Wilson, Nicki Minaj, New Edition, The Ojays, Millie Jackson, Rick Ross, and many others, Street Line Video has extensive connections and industry pull that can get any upcoming artist or actor on the big stage. Talking about her reason for establishing the production company with her son, “We have been in the business of filmmaking for years and have worked with some of the most famous global stars. We have helped capture the best images of these stars over the years, and we thought it was time to make history in another way through upcoming stars. The diamonds in the rough. That’s how Street Line Video came to life.”

Vera’s first book, Band of Gold, a community bestseller available for free on Amazon, was her first attempt at making a movie drama out of a story she created and developed herself. After the novel hit the bookstores, readers requested that she release more stories, which motivated her to write more stories. She began to write scripts for her son to shoot, starting with a script for Band of Gold movie titled Chick-en, and the rest is history. Presently, Vera Edwards and Ricardo under Street Line Video have released many independent films that have been shown in the theatres, such as Chick-en, Waiting 4 Mr. Wright, and a novella titled Perate starring The Fearless Four Tito Dones. These movies all sold out at their first showings and subsequent ones, and they all won Beta Awards. She also created a soap opera titled Rodent, which was released as a four part web series and a battle-rap movie titled PPRESSED, starring Karine Sho-Time Thornton and Michael Deering (Mikey D) of the 90s Hip-hop rap group, Main Source.

During the pandemic in 2020, they released a movie on YouTube titled A Teenage Story which starred many 1980 hip hop legends, which garnered more than 400,000 views. Street Line Video is currently working on a television drama movie set to be released in the fall season. Vera promises that the movie will be loved by all her fans while reaffirming her commitment to discovering and giving upcoming actors a shot at fame in the movie industry. Street Like Video sets itself apart from other production outfits by creating its stories from real-life experiences. Inspired by family and a desire to pursue their dreams, this mother and son partnership has become powerful, and they continue to put in work to take Street Line Video to nationwide and global fame.
